When has rugby started to be played in your country and how?
Due (in part) to Canada's history as a British colony, rugby has been played here since before Canada was a country. It's sometime hard to accurately trace the sport here, because the terms Canadian Football and rugby were used interchangably until fairly recently.
For example, my father has a medal for being on the high school rugby team in the 1970s, however it was much closer to Canadian Football. Helmets, pads, forward passes, etc. They referred to it as football, but the offical name was rugby still.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
